Aims

To raise awareness about issues of inclusion for Disabled Children in local play settings and the benefits of inclusive play

To introduce the principles and practice of good inclusive play, and demonstrate its practical application.

To develop an overall understanding of policy statements and how they affect playwork practice

To identify essential points for inclusion in an equal opportunities policy

To identify barriers to inclusion and examples of good practice in overcoming them

To know the legal requirements on play service providers that promote children’s well-being and inclusion

To identify health and safety requirements, including the provision of personal assistance for Disabled Children

Bullet

To develop an understanding of the importance of planning for inclusive play, identifying practical examples to implement in the work place.

Target Audience
Anyone working with children aged between 5 & 15 years. The course can be adapted to early years workers.
